Maeil Business NewsSGLAB's ‘G-GRIP’ Recognized as World’s First Intelligent Golf Club, Awarded Two CES 2025 Innovation Awards

29 May 2025

SGLAB’s (CEO Eddie Cho) announced that its intelligent golf club ‘G-GRIP’ has been honored with Innovation Awards in both the Sports and Fitness categories at CES 2025, the world’s largest IT and electronics exhibition to be held in Las Vegas next January. This achievement highlights SGLAB’s technological prowess and product competitiveness on the global stage, signaling a new leap forward for Korea’s golf industry.

SGLAB’s G-GRIP is the world’s first intelligent golf club, merging patented nanomaterial-based pressure sensors, high-frequency motion sensors built directly into the club, and generative AI analytics. This integration delivers real-time data on key swing metrics—such as grip pressure, swing path, club speed, face angle, and more. Despite its advanced capabilities, G-GRIP retains the weight and balance of a conventional golf club, ensuring a natural feel for players of all skill levels. With an 8-hour battery life and an intuitive mobile app, G-GRIP further enhances training by providing in- depth performance insights for golfers and coaches alike.

Users can easily access their data through a personalized UI/UX, and the club features magnetic wireless charging for maximum convenience. The battery supports more than eight hours of use on a single charge, ensuring a stable practice environment.

SGLAB’s innovation has been recognized both domestically and internationally. ‘G-GRIP’ was previously selected as the 2025 Sports Industry Startup Item of the Year and received the President’s Award from the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, further proving its excellence. These achievements reflect SGLAB’s continuous investment in research and development and its commitment to providing user-centric, innovative solutions.

Eddie Cho, CEO of SGLAB, commented, “Winning two CES Innovation Awards is a meaningful accomplishment that demonstrates our technology and innovation on the global stage. We will continue to invest in R&D and innovation to secure a leading position in the global golf market.” He added, “We aim to develop solutions that offer both familiar usability and innovative features for golf academies, instructors, lesson program participants, and all golfers interested in swing analysis.”

During CES 2025, SGLAB will showcase ‘G-GRIP’ and other innovative products at booth 62437 in Eureka Park, Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). The exhibition will feature live demonstrations of ‘G-GRIP,’ allowing visitors to experience its innovative features while retaining the feel of a traditional club. SG Lab also plans to leverage this event to connect with global buyers and industry professionals, laying the groundwork for international market expansion.
